7th Grade Quiz Re-take 10.19.20

Any 7th graders who would like to re-take the quiz on subject pronouns and the verb ser (to be) are welcome to do so during lunch on Friday.  Please let me know Friday morning so I can write a lunch pass for you.  Your highest score will be the only score entered into your grade.

If you would like to practice online, sign into Quia here, using the username and password on your información importante card that you taped into your planner and binder.  Click on the link that says “class web page,” and you will find some activities to practice the pronouns as well as ser.

If you are still uncertain about this topic, please come talk to me individually.  I will be at NFA with the 8th graders during the morning on Thursday (tomorrow), but I will be at school during lunch and at recess.

Quia Instuctions (7th & 8th Grade)

One of the tools we will be using in Spanish class is the website Quia, where I will be posting games and activities to practice, as well as occasional online quizzes.  All students have received a username and password to use Quia throughout the year, and have taped cards with this information into both their planners and their Spanish binders.  For future reference, here are the instructions for using Quia throughout the year:

  • Go to the link: http://www.quia.com/web/studentZoneBegin.html (you may want to bookmark this on your computer).
  • You must use your username and password to sign in to get credit for the time you spend there (don’t forget the “996” at the end of your username!”).
  • Once you sign in, click on the link after “Class Web Page.”  There, you will find all the activities for the current chapter.

7th Grade Chapter 2-1 Test Date Change

The test for chapter 2-1 has been re-scheduled for Friday, February 13th.  If you’re superstitious and this date concerns you, no te preocupes (don’t worry)!  In Spanish, Friday the 13th is not unlucky; it’s Tuesday the 13th (or “martes trece”) that is thought to bring bad luck.

And besides, who needs luck when you have plenty of games on Quia (log in in here) to practice, and all of your notes and the review Powerpoint up on Dropbox here?  😉

There will also be a second lunch study session on -ar verbs tomorrow (Tuesday).  Please let me know Tuesday morning if you plan to attend so that I may plan accordingly.

7th Grade Homework and Test Review Resources 2.4.15

For homework tonight, please complete your paragraphs that you began today in class.  For this assignment, you should describe what you have to do to either maintain or improve your grades from this week’s report cards.  You should use tener + que + infinive  in the “yo” form (for example, “Yo tengo que leer todos los días.”

There will be a test on Thursday, February 12th on:

  • Vocabulary for chapter 2-1
  • -AR verbs (notes available here)
  • Tener + que + infinitive verb and Hay que + infinitve verb (notes available here)
  • Frequency adverbs (notes available here)

There are games available on Quia for extra practice (log in here).  Additionally, the review Powerpoint that we will do in class is available on Dropbox here, if you would like to do some advance practice.
